Attention all Sewer and Water customers:
Mundy Township Water Source.
Residents should be aware Mundy Township Board passed the following Resolution in regards to a sewer/water rate charge, effective November 2, 2019 per Resolution Number R-19-10. If you have a private well, residents will be charged a flat-rate fee. If you are on public water (this is a commodity driven process), there will be a ready-to-serve charge. Your utility charges are billed in arrears. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes please contact the Treasurer, Dennis Owens.
Ordinance 92-T pertaining to the basic minimum fee for sanitary sewer service for Senior Citizens.
On Monday, October 28, 2008 at the Regular Board Meeting, the Township Board cleared the way for a senior citizen discount for certain Sewer fees. Specific criteria must be met:
- Proof/Identification that you are over 62 years of age. (You, or your spouse.)
- Verify your residence qualifies under the Homestead Exemption.
Discounts apply to the following only:
- 10% (ten percent) off of the Ready to Serve Fee (for those residents that qualify). This fee applies to residents that obtain water from the public water system.
- 10% (ten percent) off of the Flat Fee (for those residents that qualify). This fee applies to residents that obtain their water from a private well.
Important Change Regarding U.S. Postmarks-they will no longer be accepted for your sewer/water payment. Payments must be received in our office by the 15th of the month in which they are due, by business close 6:00 p.m.
Statement Delivery Method-residents can enroll to receive your Charter Township of Mundy Water/Sewer Statement electronically by completing our Utility E-Bill Authorization Form. Once enrolled in the e-bill program you will no longer be receiving a statement by mail.
Water and Sewer Accounts
The table below shows the rates for sewer and water services. Please note, that they are applicable and will apply to all water customers.
A) All water customers will be billed a monthly readiness fee based upon the size of the meter.
B) For all water used, there shall be a charge of $5.75 for each 100 cubic feet of metered water usage. Said 100 cubic feet of metered water usage equals 748 gallons. This is in addition to the above noted meter minimum charge.
C) The rates for quarterly billing will be the above monthly amounts multiplied by three (3).
If you sell your home, a final bill should be ordered and the account is simply transferred to the new owner. New homeowners should always verify that name changes and final bills have been attended to. Please contact our Sewer and Water Department, at 810-655-4631, ext. 222, to complete this transfer.
Effective January 1, 2014 residents that have a secondary meter supply to irrigate lawns and gardens shall be billed at fifty percent (50%) of the RTS charge throughout the entire year, without the availability of the time for services being altered. The meters will continue to be read throughout the year and if there is usage, a bill will be sent. Costs can be found on Resolution Number R-13-20.
Mundy Township operates on the billing cycles that are explained further in the Water and Sewer Department FAQ's section. It is the responsibility of the residents to contact our Water and Sewer Department, at 810-655-4631, ext. 222, if the quarterly billings are not received. There is a 2% penalty for all late payments or if the amount paid is less then the amount owed. Our office hours are Mon. - Thurs. 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you will be out of town on the due dates, you can prepay your month(s) quarterly amount due and avoid the penalty.
